Isaiah 53:5

“But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.”

What is the meaning of Isaiah 53:5?
This verse is part of a larger passage in the book of Isaiah that describes the suffering and death of a righteous figure, often referred to as the “Servant of the Lord.” The verse describes how this figure was wounded and crushed because of the sins of others. However, through his suffering and death, he was able to bring about peace and healing for those who believe in him.
The verse is often interpreted as a prophecy about the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, who is believed by Christians to be the Son of God and the savior of the world. According to Christian belief, Jesus suffered and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity, and through his death, he was able to bring about the forgiveness of sins and eternal life for those who believe in him.
